Mussoorie, perched at the altitude of about 1,876 meters above the sea level in the lap of the snow capped sierras of the Himalayas, experiences a typical cold weather throughout the year. Summer The so called summer extends from March to June when temperature hovers around 20°c to 27°c. The minimum temperature during summer is recorded to be about 14°c. This is the most pleasant and amicable season at Mussoorie and the perfect period of the year to pay a visit to.

Monsoon sets in during the month of December and remains till late February. This is the most freezing and frigid season of the year when Mussoorie experiences frequent snow falls and the night temperature often goes below zero. The roads are blocked with snow and it is difficult to survive here during winter especially if you are from the hot regions of the world.

Winter ranges from June to September when Mussoorie experiences medium rains and roads become quite awful during this season. The best time to visit Mussoorie is April to June and September to November. Summer is the ideal period for adventure activities like trekking, camping and rock climbing while post monsoon is the best time for water rafting.
