By Air: Kamalapuram Airport situated in Omalur taluk is the nearest domestic airport from Yercaud. Trichy Airport, located about 163 km from Yercaud is the nearest major airport. Coimbatore airport is situated nearly190 km away and Bangalore airport is approximately 230 km from Yercaud. Both Bangalore and Coimbatore airports have a very good connectivity with all the important cities of India including Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta and Chennai via air.

By Rail: The nearest railway head from Yercaud is Salem Town Railway Station which is situated 33 kilometers downhill. Salem Junction, located 36 km from Yercaud is the closest major train station. Trains running between Chennai and Kerala, Chennai and Coimbatore and those connecting Bangalore, Kerala and Kanyakumari stop at Salem Junction. To reach atop Shevaroys Hills to Yercaud, one can either hire a cab or board the state transport bus from Salem bus station.

By Road: An hour’s trip uphill from Salem will reach you to Yercaud. Yercaud lies 30 kilometers away from Salem and the road that leads to this famous hill station of Tamil Nadu passes through the splendid coffee plantations of Shevaroys Hills. This is an extremely picturesque road on both the sides adorned with 20 hair pin curves and bike riding on this path is very exciting and enjoyable. On lucky days, even birds like peacock, parrots, quail, pigeons and animals a like bison, jackal, bear, spotted deer can be sighted on the way.
From Salem, you can rent a cab or board a bus. Both state transport and private buses are available from there. Two routes are available from Salem to Yercaud. One of them is via Hasthampatti and Korimedu and another passes through Kuppanoor. Yercaud is situated 190 km from Coimbatore, 222 km from Bangalore and 358 km from Chennai.
