By Rail: As Wayanad is a hill station, direct rail connectivity is not present. The nearest railhead is at Kozhikode, 75 km from Kalpetta.

By Bus:Well connected by roads from Kozhikode, Kannur, ooty( 175 km from Kalpetta) and Mysore (140 km from Kalpetta).

Taxi: Most of the hotels in Wayanad have pre arranged service of local taxis and cabs. Within the limits of the city, the cabs charge around Rs.100. However, at the city outskirts, they charge about 13 km per km. Taxis might prove to be a little expensive mode of transport, but a tactful bargaining can significantly bring down the charges.
