By Air: Shimla Airport, located at Jubbarhatti approximately 22 kilometers from Shimla provides this ‘Jewel of the Himalayas’ with air connectivity to rest of the country. Jagson Airlines and Kingfisher Airlines are the two major airlines that cater services at the Jubbarhatti Airport. The flights from Shimla regularly ply to Delhi and Kullu. For the better air connectivity, you can use the Chandigarh Domestic Airport located about 120 kilometers from Shimla. To reach Shimla from Jubbarhatti Airport and vice versa, you can rent a taxi that would cost you around 450 INR.

By Road: National Highway no 22, State Highway no 16 and MDR 13 connect Shimla with Kalka. Shimla is located about 94 kilometers from Kalka via NH 22. To reach Kalka from Shimla tourists generally prefer to hire a taxi that would get you to Kalka roughly in 3 hours.
