By Air: : Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport of Mumbai located about 140 kilometers from here is the nearest airbase from Murud. Being the second busiest airport in South Asia, and the largest and most important airport of the country, Mumbai Airport provides extremely good air connectivity with almost any part of the world. All the chief airports of India are linked with Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport via air and almost each and every Indian Airline as well as a number of the foreign airlines cater their services here. To reach Murud from Mumbai one can either rent a cab that would charge around 3000 INR or use the easily available state transport bus service.

By Rail: Roha Railway Station that lies on the Konkan Railway line is the nearest railhead from Murud. Located nearly 23 kilometers away, Roha Railway Station is well connected with various railway stations of Mumbai. Thus Murud is very well linked through rail route via Roha from Mumbai. It takes about half an hour to reach Roha from Murud by road. Some of the major trains that stop at Roha include Dadar Kochuveli Superfast, Dadar Eranakulam S, Netravati Exp and many others. Panvel Railway Station situated about 90 kilometers from Murud is the next nearest railway hub from here.

By Road: To reach Murud from Mumbai via road you can take the Alibag – Revdanda – Kashid route or reach Murud via Roha. The route via Revdanda involves a journey of about 165 kilometers. Mumbai Goa Highway No. 17 is another option for those who want to drive their private vehicle. This drive will take about 4 to 5 hours to reach Murud from Mumbai. To reach Murud from Pune there are two major routes. The first one is from Pune to Paud - Mulshi - Kolad -Roha and Murud while the second one is the expressway from Pune to Khalapur - Pen - Alibag - Revdanda - Kashid and finally Murud. The first route preferred for the two wheelers passes through picturesque ghats and it is very scenic. While the second route that mostly comprises the Mumbai expressway is faster. Murud is located about 230 kilometers from Pune and about 52 km from Alibag. Maharashtra State Transport buses are easily available for Murud from Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan, Alibag and Pune.

By Ferry: Reaching Murud from Mumbai via ferry can also be an experience of delight. Regular ferry services are available between Mumbai and Rewas. From Rewas you can reach Kihim Beach which is located just 6 kilometers away. Alibag is very close from Kihim and regular buses and private vehicles can easily be availed from here for Murud. Another option is the catamaran ride from the Gateway of India to Mandwa. From Mandwa free buses are available for Alibag and then local bus can be opted for from Alibag to Murud.
