How To Reach Khajuraho

By Air: Khajuraho Airport, located about 5 kilometers from the town is the nearest airbase from here. Air India, Air India-IC, Jet Airways, Jet Airways Konnect, JetLite, SpiceJet, Go Air, IndiGo, Go Business, Kingfisher Red and Kingfisher are the major airlines that cater their services at this airport. Khajuraho Airport provides a very good connectivity with major cities of India like Delhi, Bhopal, Varanasi, Mumbai, Agra, Allahabad, Indore and also Kathmandu.
By Rail: The Khajuraho Railway Station lies on Delhi-Chennai/Bangalore/ Trivandrum mainline and connects this town directly to Jhansi. UP Sampark Kranti Express that runs 6 day a week connects Khajuraho to Delhi. The railway station at Khajuraho is comparatively small and to buy a train ticket you will have to go to the town bus station.
Mahoba, situated approximately 63 kilometers away is the nearest major railway station from Khajuraho. The trains that stop at Mahoba station include Tulsi Exp, Bundelkhand Exp, Chambal Exp, Mahakoshal Exp, U P Smprk Krnti, Bsb Kurj Link E etc. Mahoba is connected with chief Indian cities like Varanasi, Allahabad, Gwalior, H Nizamuddin, Howrah, Jabalpur , Lokmanyatilak T, Manikpur Jn, Mathura and so on via rail. To reach Khajuraho from Mahoba, one can hire a taxi which will cost about 1200 Rs.
Harpalpur, located about 90 km from Khajuraho is another major railway head. A pre paid cab will charge about 2000 Rs from Harpalpur to Khajuraho.
By Road: Khajuraho is connected with Satna, Panna, Chattarpur, Mahoba, Jabalpur, Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jhansi, Harpalpur, Sagar, Allahabad, Agra, Varanasi, Bandhavgarh, and many other cities in and around Madhya Pradesh by road. Both state transport and private buses – ordinary, AC, Non AC, deluxe and super deluxe buses, are available for these places from Khajuraho.
