By Air:The Kochi International Airport is the nearest airport to Idukki and it takes about 2 hours to reach Idukki via road from there.another much availed option includes a flight o the Madurai National Airport, locted about 125 km from Idukki. It takes about 3 hrs to reach Idukki from there.

By Rail: The nearest Railway Head to Idukki is at Kochi, about 100 km from Idukki

By Road: Idukki can easily be reached by bus or cars from the other important cities of Kerela and the neighboring states. The bus service is partly run by the State Transport Corporation and partly is run by the private enterprises. These buses ply on the six national highways that pass through Idukki.

Bus: There are many bus services that pass through the town of Idukki. These also serve as an excellent mode of communication from point of the town to another. They are cheap and frequent and can be availed of from the Idukki Bus Terminus.

Auto-Rickshaw: The Autorickshaws are less frequent in the roads of Idukki. Unlike the other states of Kerela, they do not run on meter and ply only on the main roads.
