How To Reach Chandigarh

By Air: Chandigarh Domestic Airport, located about 8 kilometers from the heart of the city provides air connectivity to the city beautiful. Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, GoAir, Kingfisher Airlines, Air Deccan and MDLR Airlines cater services at this airbase. Directs airbuses from Chandigarh fly to Delhi, Mumbai, Srinagar and Jammu. Kolkata, Goa, Ranchi, and many other cities are accessible from here through connecting flights. The Chandigarh Domestic Airport is in process of being raised to the status of International Airport. A Tourist Information Centre is set up at the airport which is run by the tourism department of Chandigarh. You can hire cabs to reach the main Chandigarh city from the airport.
By Rail: Chandigarh Railway Station, positioned in sector 17 is about 8 kilometers from the center of the city. Jan Shatabdi, Shatabdi, Himalayan Queen, Sadbhavna Express, Paschim Express, Chennai Express, Kerala Sampark Kranti, Hawrah-Kalka Mail, Jodhpur-Kalka Express, etc trains link Chandigarh to important cities of India like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Trivandrum, Lucknow, Chennai, Howrah, Jaipur, and many cities in Kerala.

By Road: Chandigarh boasts of a very good road network. National Highways No. 21 (Ambala-Kinnaur) and 22 (Chandigarh-Leh) pass from here and connect this city with rest of the country. ISBT, (The Inter-State Bus Terminus) situated in Sector 17 and the Bus Stand located in Sector 43 are two main bus stationa in the city of Chandigarh. State Transport Buses of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh states ply from here. Ordinary, deluxe, semi air conditioned and air conditioned buses are available at these bus stands.
Chandigarh serves as a gateway to various hill stations like Kullu – Manali, Shimla, Kasauli, Chail, Rohtang etc. CTU (Chandigarh Transport Undertaking) also provides both local and interstate transportation services. CTU buses link Chandigarh with major cities like Delhi, Amritsar, Dehradun, Haridwar, Katra, Shimla, Jaipur, Manali, Pathankot, Hisar, and many other towns of Punjab and Haryana states.
