How To Reach Bhubaneshwar

By Air: : Biju Patnaik Airport, popularly known as Bhubaneshwar Airport located about 3 kilometers to the south of the city provides Bhubaneshwar an air connectivity with rest of the country. Named after Mr. Biju Patnaik; the former chief minister of Orissa, the Bhubaneshwar Airport is the only major airbase of the state. Chief airlines operational at this airport include Air India, Jet Airways, Jet Lite, Kingfisher Airlines and IndiGo. Bhubaneshwar is connected via air with a number of premier cities of the country including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Port Blair, Goa, Bagdogra, Srinagar, Raipur and many others. The Biju Patnaik Airport is soon going to be upgraded to the status of an international airport. Reaching the city Bhubaneshwar from the airport is very convenient and easy as auto rickshaws and city buses are available in abundance here.
By Rail: Situated on the main Kolkata Chennai line, Bhubaneshwar serves as the headquarters of the East Coast Railway Zone (ECoR). The Bhubaneshwar Railway Station (BBS) is located right in the heart of the city. National Highway No 5 (Kolkata - Chennai) and 203 connect Bhubaneshwar with rest of the country.
