By Road: An extensive network of state and national highways connects Bhopal with all the major intra and inter state destinations by road. The three major national highways those pass through Bhopal are NH 12, NH 34 and NH 86. National Highway No 12 links Bhopal to Jaipur in the West and Jabalpur in the East whereas NH 86 annexes Bhopal to Sagar in the East and Dewas & Indore in the West. NH 34 also connects Bhopal to Sagar. SH 23 adjoins Bhopal with Sironj and Guna to its north. The Bhopal city has two interstate bus terminuses; one of them is Kushabhau Thakre Inter State Bus Terminal while the other is located in the proximity with the Habibganj Railway Station. Numerous buses daily operate from Bhopal to various destinations viz. Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Sanchi, Khajuraho, Vidisha, Berasia, Pachmarhi, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Kota, Jodhpur, Pune, Nashik, Shirdi, Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, Jalgaon, Vadodara, Surat, etc.
